WITS Founder and Chef Meet School Food "Change Makers"
Founder Nancy Easton and Chef Bill Telepan spent the week traveling with Jeannete Orrey,  the United Kingdom's famous "Dinner Lady".  Orrey is a leader in the U.K.'s efforts to provide school lunches made of fresh, local organic food.  We shared with her the work we are doing in partnership with NYC SchoolFood.  Together we met with:

Eric Goldstein, Chief Executive Officer for Nutrition and Transportation
Dianne Frankel, Director of Operations
Chef Jorge Collazo, SchoolFood Executive Chef
Stephen O'Brien, Director of Food and Food Support

We also traveled to Baltimore to spend the day with Tony Geraci, the no nosense Baltimore School Chief who implemented "Meatless Monday's". Their lesson?  There is no room for cynicism about what is possible.  One child, one school, one plate at a time.

The week was sponsored by Animal Welfare Approved, the nation's leading certification label for family farmers raising their animals with high welfare standards.
